We received a lot of entries for SIG Dermatopathology (IADVL Academy) Image Quiz - November 2024. Please find below the answer with explanation as well as the names of those who got it correct.

Answer: Primary cutaneous nodular amyloidosis

Histopathological findings: Normal epidermis with deposit of acellular eosinophilic material in the superficial and deep dermis including perivascular space. There is sparse interstitial infiltrate of lymphocytes and a few plasma cells. Staining with Congo red was positive for amyloid, with apple green birefringence on polarizing. Immunohistochemistry was positive for kappa and lambda.
